The research study related to induction and control of estrous cycle will mainly focus on the alternative contraception and estrous induction methods for dogs and cats such as using new hormonal devices. According to the difference of the reproductive physiology patterns between animals and humans, the previously used contraception and estrous induction methods applied from human treatment has been reported to perform the deleterious effects to animal health. Thus, the further study in the innovation that specified to animal physiology condition will be the potential and effective tools for the animal reproductivemanagement.
Mission
- To develop safety and effective contraception methods for the animal population control purpose
- To develop safety and effective estrous induction methods, techniques or devices to practically use in animal reproductivemanagement
- To inform the new knowledge in dogs and cats population control to pet owners, researchers, veterinary practitioners, students as well as the staff in the related government and private organizations; the Bureau of Disease Control and Veterinary Services or the Bangkok Metropolitan
Research projects
- Reproductive performances of female dogs and cats following the implantations of GnRH agonist, deslorelin at early prepubertal ages
- Hormonal changes in prepubertal and pubertal bitches following GnRH agonist implantation.
